Registered under the Co-operative Societies Act No. 5 of 1972, read in conjunction with the Co- operative Societies Amendment Act No. 32 of 1983 and the Co-operative Societies Amendment Act No. 11 of 1992, incorporated as a Co-operative Financial Institution with limited liability under Ku / 1890 - 05.05.1988.

Established in 1988 as the first Co-operative Rural Bank in the North Western Province, it currently provides financial services through 15 bank branches. Also, four ATMs have been installed, pioneering the use of modern technology. slip traNSACTION is also in operation.

With the participation of around 80,000 customers, loans up to 5 million are provided for their financial needs. It also has a net profit of over 70 million annually, total assets of around Rs. 3 billion and plays a vital role in the field of Sri Lankan Co-operative Rural Banking.
